Jan Klug
Jan Klug is a composer and media designer with extensive experience in the use of computers and programming as creative tools for the creation of music performances and live video. He started as a musician, and graduated in saxophone at the Conservatory of Music in Groningen (Netherlands). In parallel, Jan has developed a particular interest in the possibilities of creative computer programming. As a composer and media designer, has worked on several projects in dance, theater and film. Since 1996 he is a permanent member of the group "Poets from Epibreren", a collective that combines poetry, music and video images, winner of the prestigious Dutch "Johnny van Doorn Award”. Jan has created numerous performances and concerts, blending acoustic and electronic music, accompanied by the interaction between images and sounds. Since 2002 Jan is working with the director Andrea Paciotto Offucina and as a composer, media designer and programmer. From this collaboration were born different shows, presented in Holland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Serbia and the United States. In addition to his work as creator, Jan holds workshops and seminars on various aspects of audiovisual production and programming. Since 2008, Jan is core teacher of the course "Interactive Media and Environments" (MFA) of the "Frank Mohr Institute for (post)graduate Studies in the Arts and Emerging Media" in Groningen, Holland.
