Sachiyo Honda
Sachiyo Honda (Japan) is an independent media artist. She studied Japanese traditional painting at the Tokyo Art University. After graduating, she started to combine materials in her paintings. She exhibited in India and tried to use Indian paper and Japanese material. Later she moved to Paris and started copperplate engraving in Atelier 63. Several years later she moved to Brussels and continued printing at La Cambre. At the same time she learned bookbinding and she produced the Art Book. She presented her works at some book fairs in Belgium. Later she researched the three dimensional creation through the construction of a hut, which she offered to a Belgian dance company. The dance work inspire her, so she got involved in Butho dance and improvisation music playing the accordion. She participated in several experimental music concerts and performances in Brussels. During the same time she returned to producing visual work, she made an animation and performed with dance and music at the Japanese-Bulgarian video art fest in Sofia.
